Apple Valley Lake offers boating, fishing, swimming and quiet time near the water. Property owners and their guests can also enjoy three beaches, indoor and outdoor pools, community facilities, recreation areas and other amenities, subject to current AVPOA rules and schedules.

You do not need to own a lakefront home to enjoy the lake. Lakeview, golf course and off-water properties can provide access to the community lifestyle at different price points and with different maintenance responsibilities.

Opportunities to Stay Active and Connected

Retirement can feel very different when recreation is close to home.

Apple Valley includes a fitness center, swimming pools, pickleball and tennis courts, beaches, Bennett Park, a fishing pond and Campers Village. Community clubs and events also provide opportunities to meet people and become involved.

The independently owned Apple Valley Golf Course is located beside the community. It is an 18-hole public course and is not owned or operated by AVPOA.

Apple Valley feels removed from busier city life, but Mount Vernon is nearby for groceries, restaurants, shopping, professional services and healthcare.

Knox Community Hospital is located in Mount Vernon and provides emergency, urgent-care, primary-care and specialty services. Buyers with specific healthcare needs should consider the location of their doctors, preferred hospital and pharmacy when deciding whether Apple Valley is the right fit.

Columbus and Akron are also reachable for major shopping, airports, entertainment and specialized services, although Apple Valley itself has a quieter, more rural setting.
